Vijay Das, CEO
Vijay Das considers himself an anthropologist, a student of human culture especially of the intersection of technology and human potential. His professional life has been mainly entrepreneurial, having been the founder or co-founder of ventures that include an environmental research laboratory, a new cancer drug development start-up, and a bar/restaurant/lounge. His most recent experience was with a VC backed startup which developed a consumer hosted computing service paired with a custom premise device. Work accomplished at a senior management level included many technology projects involving software and hardware, industrial design, sales, marketing, interactive, ecommerce, and CRM. Along the way he has mentored and advised several entrepreneurs in building new ventures in ISP, telecom agency, and VoIP service. He is currently mentoring a startup maker of premium yoga gear and is also developing a couple of hobby documentary film projects.
David Kirby, CTO
David Kirby considers himself a linguist, a student of languages. He considers code, symbols, mathematics and music as languages to communicate meaning. He has been programming computers since he was 12 years old. His experience in code spans from early days hacking Bell Telephone's switching systems all the way to designing and creating a full blown synthesizer for the Apple iPAD. This last project was a challenging effort that required some deep learning of interfaces, special mathematics, semiotics, DSP, and several new programming languages and paradigms. David is an accomplished musician who once worked as a studio musician in London for a major record label. He is also well known in the experimental electro-acoustic music scene as the founder and curator of a well regarded netlabel (homophoni.com) and as a performing and recording musician . He most recently served as principal sound engineer for Amplify 2011.
